Meet the bobcats-Taylor Smith

We are continuing to feature a couple of our players in the “Meet the Bobcats” portion of the blog this week. During our Tampa trip you had a chance to get to know two of the freshman, today it is the upper class man’s turn.  Here is the interview with  junior Taylor Smith.

1. Where are you from and where did you go to high school?

I am from Larchmont, NY and I went to Mamaroneck High School.

2. What is your major and what has been your favorite class at Bates?

I am a Chinese, English double major and the best class I’ve taken at Bates was “Intro to Poetry Writing.”

3. Do you have any idea what you will be doing your thesis on next year?

Um, thesis, that’s a good question. I should probably start thinking about that (My dream is to write about Harry Potter for my English thesis, but maybe it’s time to get realistic.)

4. What has been you favorite tennis team moment so far?

It would have to be the mixed doubles we did during practice in Florida. Amrit was the best doubles partner ever! All I had to do was cheer and watch him ace the other team.

5. What is your favorite Commons’ meal?

Asian noodles by the salad bar and anything with ketchup on it.

6. What do you hope for the team to accomplish this year?

I hope the team works really hard at every practice and in every match, and I want us to have fun doing it.

7. Yankees or Red Sox?

Who do you think I am? YANKEES!

8. What is your favorite movie?

It’s a tie between Kung Fu Panda and The Godfather(#1).

9. Where is your favorite place to study on campus?

The tables by the copy machines in the Library, (that’s where all the international kids hang out…they do my Chinese homework for me.)

10. Are you a dog or cat person?

Well, if I get within ten feet of a cat I break out in hives, so I’m gonna go with dog.
